花喰い鳥のタイルBirds on black tile

Students from Asia enjoyed drawing on black tile.
It was a friendly nice class. I really enjoyed and appreciated.
黒タイルの鳥のクラスが終わりました。
日本を含めてアジアからの参加者さんが楽しんで下さいました。
フレンドリーな良いクラスで、私も本当に楽しかったです。感謝しています。
花を咥える鳥のデザインは古代オリエントから東に渡って日本では花喰い鳥という図案になりました。西ではノアの方舟の伝説とともにオリーブの小枝を咥える鳩の図案がよく見られますね。
どちらも吉祥文様と言って良いですね。希望や、良いことを運んでくれる模様です。
このタイルを描くとなんとなく嬉しくなるのは、そういう文化的な背景をなんとなく感じるからかもしれません。
The design of birds biting flower with their beaks came to Japan from ancient Orient long time ago . We call the design “Hanakuidori” and it’s used as a symbol of happiness and goodness.
The design went to West world too , and we can see the design which bird biting olive twig in the beak, like the story of Noah’s ark . The design symbolizes hope and happiness. In both East and West , people treat that design as good metaphor.
I feel so happy when I draw this design. It may be because I feel the background of this design unconsciously.
